Catalog Description
This certificate’s purpose is to help students secure an internship, apprenticeship or entry level/junior position as a graphic designer in the Publication Design industry. The certificate’s goals are to help students build the necessary skills and create a portfolio of high quality Publication Design work that will make them viable for employment. The certificate’s goals will be achieved by providing students with the ability to produce both print and digital Publication Design solutions demonstrating their ability to work under industry professionals and by constantly aligning the course offerings with the frequently evolving trends in the print and digital design industry.
Enrollment Completer Projections
Estimate is for 5-10 students to earn this certificate within an academic year. Program growth continues to develop as more students are aware of our program which officially launched Fall '16. We project 2 cohorts (4 years) will see reliable data for future projections.

Program Goal
The Certificate of Achievement in Graphic Design: Publication Design will help Rio Hondo College’s students to achieve the educational goal of workforce readiness. Projected Start Date: We entered the date for Fall 2018. The original application was submitted in Spring 2017. We are hoping we can get approved in time to offer these COA’s by the beginning of the Spring semester: January 29th 2018
