Catalog Description

This certificate prepares students for entry level careers in screen printing and design. This includes instruction in all phases of project creation and production, using the latest equipment and software available. Classes are structured to give strong academic and hands-on experience into screen printing design, print preparation, production, and finishing.

Program Goal

The Screen Printer certificate, offered by the Applied Digital Media and Printing program, provides prospective learners from a diverse community with hands-on training in the fields of graphic design and screen-printing production. Successful completion of this career-technical program will equip students with foundational skills and practical knowledge in all phases of project creation, production, finishing, and marketing. Possible career outcomes for this program include: screen printer, screen printing press operator, print shop/production manager, textile/apparel printer or graphic artist. Relevancy of this program is maintained via annual input from an advisory committee and industry feedback.

Program Requirements Narrative

For this proposed Comic and Graphic Novel Production certificate, prospective students would need to complete six ADM classes that are offered regularly: ADM2A, ADM2B, ADM71A, ADM77A, ADM84A and ADM85B. These classes also do not have prerequisite, except ADM85B, so students could choose to take nearly all of them in whichever order that fits their schedules.
