Catalog Description

The AS degree in Automotive Service and Repair is designed for students who want a broad education in automotive technology that covers all areas of vehicle service and repair. This degree is also a focused pathway starting from high school, to earning an AS degree, and then earning a BS degree in Automotive Technology Management. Automotive technicians can also use this degree pathway, along with Credit for Prior Learning (CPL), as an achievable way of earning an AS degree with the intent of teaching automotive technology.

Enrollment Completer Projections

We hope to award five to ten degrees a year.

Program Goal

Few students earn AS degrees in evening pathways because the existing degrees are all specific to areas within automotive technology. Also, some courses are only offered every other year, prolonging the time to earn an AS degree. This new degree covers key courses in each of the areas in the chart below, making the degree more achievable and appropriate for students who want to earn a degree in less time.
