This certificate is designed to train students seeking a pathway into the lighting or grip department in the film and television industry. Students will develop the ability to work effectively as a member of a grip or lighting department in production team while honing skills needed to complete high quality film and television productions.

For students seeking basic skill training to enter the film and tv industry. We have also partnered with IATSE Local 728 (lighting technician guild) to create a pathway into their membership.

Program Requirements Narrative

Through the required courses, students will demonstrate an effective ability to work as a member of a lighting or grip production team to achieve the challenges of technical and conceptual goals of the project from origination to the completion of the high quality final deliverable media productions. They will also demonstrate an understanding of composition, film language and lighting techniques to support the creative vision of the director.
