The Registered Dental Assisting Certificate Program at Lassen Community College is designed to provide students with comprehensive training and hands-on experience in dental assisting, preparing them for a rewarding career in the dental healthcare field. This program aligns with the state regulations for Registered Dental Assistants (RDAs).

Program Proposal Attributes
- Certificate of Achievement: 16 or greater semester (or 24 or greater quarter) units (C)
The graduate will integrate physiological and psychosocial concepts, along with clinical judgment to apply knowledge, skills, and competency of an entry-level Dental Assistant while providing quality, safe, patient centered care.
The graduate will promote and maintain a safe environment by integrating current evidenced based practice, information technology, and skill competency to deliver quality dental care.
The graduate will therapeutically communicate and collaborate with culturally diverse patients, families, and the inter-professional dental care team to achieve quality patient centered care.
The graduate will demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required of the professional Dental Assistant, embracing lifelong learning to improve the quality of dental care.

Course Report
Prerequisite(s): Acceptance to the Lassen Community College Registered Dental Assistant and American Heart Association Basic Life Support.
To earn the Registered Dental Assisting Certificate, students must complete a specified number of credit hours, including classroom lectures,laboratory work, and clinical experiences. Additionally, students must meet all pre-clinical and clinical requirements.
