The Associate of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems: Web Design at Crafton Hills College combines web-based program with illustration, art and design tools to provide students with the necessary skills for developing web-based content. Students who complete this program will have learned to required skills to utilize web-based languages to organize and display digital content and be prepared for positions in web and mobile design, advertising, and interactive media publishing.

Program Goal

The goal of the AS degree in Programming is to provide students with the knowledge of different aspects of web site design and development with an emphasis on the web-specific Adobe Creative applications. The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that job opportunities in the web development field (Web programmers, Web designers, and Web masters) are expected to increase 13% through 2020. A. S. degrees are typical entry level degrees in web design and development. The program is apart of the transfer preparation to a 4 year institution offering a B.S. degree in web technology and related CIS majors.

Program Requirements Narrative

Students have to take between 13 and 14 required units centered around computer technology and web design. Following these courses they must select twelve units out of 22 units that will help them demonstrate  the  ability  to  conceptualize  website design principles that bring simplicity and user  friendliness  to  complex  roadblocks.
