Upon successful completion of the Agriculture Engineering Production Plant - Level 2 Mechanical Certificate of Achievement, the student demonstrates skills and knowledge in occupational safety, applied math, electrical safety, computer use in the workplace, communication, team-working, sanitation practices, metal-working, industrial controls, processes, systems, automation, mechatronics, HVAC, hydraulics, metal cutting, and basic welding. The Agriculture Engineering Production Plant - Level 2 Mechanical Certificate of Achievement coursework provides students with skills for entry-level positions in food processing, manufacturing, and automated facilities.

Program Learning Outcomes

  1. Demonstrate knowledge of the principles and operation of industrial automation devices and circuits.
  2. Identify the correct horsepower electric motor for a given hydraulic system design.
Enrollment Completer Projections

The Agriculture Engineering Production Plant certificate program at San Joaquin Delta College projects that the “annual completers” are limited to the number of seats and CTE courses offered.  CTE courses usually have courses limited to around 30 students. Many of the CTE courses used in the certificate have multiple courses available.  The course success and retention rates are around 80%, based on courses listed on the certificate (please see the attached Delta Dashboard course success and retention rates for courses listed in the certificate).  After fully established, we are projecting 20 “annual completers”.
