The Associate in Science degree in Business Information Professional is designed to prepare students for careers in business office environments where they can demonstrate advanced computer literacy with respect to computer hardware and software applications, develop advanced keyboarding skills, adeptly function in word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and database software as well as perform advanced business office tasks in business math and accounting (QuickBooks).
The requirements for this Associate Degree in Business Information Professional may be satisfied by completing the Level III BIP certificate of achievement plus 21 units of general education requirements, and sufficient elective credits to total 60 units. (See graduation/associate degree requirements.)
Courses are being offered starting Fall 2020 with a projected enrollment of at least 25 students per course with enrollment projected to increase to 50 or more in the Spring of 2021. It is projected that 125 or more students will complete the course work for this degree by the end of Summer/Fall 2021

- Students will develop advanced keyboarding, proofreading, and document formatting skills while applying the principles of grammar and communication.
- Students will begin to plan, develop, and format electronic spreadsheets utilizing advanced formulas and functions to manage financial and statistical data along with advanced presentation software skills.
- Students will begin to be able to develop advanced database skills and end the BIP program with a capstone review of the program.

Course Report
The Business Information Professional Certificate series is designed to provide students with practical, career-oriented skills for professional office environments using current industry technologies. Students receive hands-on experience in advanced keyboarding, office procedures, and microcomputers, in addition to advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. This A.S. degree requires a total of 60 units (30 units in degree major).
