    • The Certificate of Achievement and Associate of Arts in Photography degree is designed to prepare students for employment in the field of professional photography. The program(s) will give students the technical and creative skills needed to pursue a career in the field of photography as well as a broad based education that will augment those skills.  Students earning the AA can also earn the Certificate of Achievement in Photography on their way to completion and earning the AA will make a student more employable than if they earn the Certificate of Achievement alone.  Upon completion of the degree students will be able to work as an entry to mid level professional photographer.

Chabot College: Chabot has AA (27 units and GE, total 60) and certificates of Achievement (18 units) and Proficiency (15 units) in Photography. Met with Aaron Deetz the Photography Program coordinator at Chabot college. He was encouraging and positive about LPC having AA and Certificate. Foothill College: AA (40 units plus GE), CA (certificate of Achievement), SC (skills certificate) ranging in the 12-40 unit range. Contacted Ron Herman, head of the program. He was positive about our pursuit of updating and adding to our degrees. We will be in touch as he is also working on updating their curriculum. Laney College: 36 unit AS Photo degree and certificate. Michael Moya was the contact. Michael gave me good feedback and encouragement on our updates. mmoya@peralta.edu Berkeley City College: BCC has a Certificate of achievement in Photography/printmaking (18 units) and a Mulitmedia Arts Certificate of Proficiency in Digital Photography (18 units). Contacted Mary Clarke-Miller, and received no feedback. mclarkemiller@peralta.edu SKYLINE: No direct Photography degree, photography classes are part of AA in Arts and AA for transfer degrees.
