Enrollment Completer Projections

BUS 001, BUS 005, and ACCTG 001 are core courses consistently offered as part of our associate degree pathways and included in the regular schedule rotation. These classes maintain strong enrollment, averaging 25–35 students per section each semester. In addition, BUS 032 and MGMT 002 are elective courses offered on an alternating-semester basis (based on demand). Based on steady enrollment in the Business degree, coupled with overall market demand, we anticipate awarding approximately 30 certificates of completion each year.

New Program

Place of program in college's curriculum/similar program

Harbor College currently offers a business certificate with an emphasis in data analytics, along with similar options in noncredit programs for entrepreneurs and managers/supervisors. This proposed certificate is designed to address the needs of our community while creating clear credit pathways that lead directly into our degree program.

List similar programs at other colleges in the Los Angeles Region

Los Angeles Harbor College’s Certificate of Achievement in Business Management is structured with a lower unit count than comparable certificates at Los Angeles Valley College, East Los Angeles College, and Los Angeles Southwest College. The curriculum prioritizes a tightly focused, workforce-aligned core in frontline management, emphasizing workplace communication and foundational people/data competencies. This shortens time to completion and reduces cost while avoiding duplication with broader programs and maintaining clear articulation into LAHC business degree pathways.
