 The basic occupational competencies students will acquire will be tasks that entry level information security analysts would be asked to perform including:

  • Set up and construct a secure peer-to-peer and client server network
  • Secure mobile devices and wireless networks
  • Examine general security concepts and communication security

  • Harden networks against reconnaissance and penetration

Due to Guided Pathway efforts, Long Beach City College is sending low unit Certificates of Accomplishment to the Chancellor’s Office for approval. Once approved, these already-existing programs will become Certificates of Achievement and will allow the College to better serve students.
List similar programs at other colleges in the Los Angeles and Orange County Region.
LBCC has been offering this program in the LBCC District as a Certificate of Accomplishment since August 1, 2005 and has coexisted without competitive destruction to the other colleges in the region. LBCC is taking the program through the LAOCRC for discussion and recommendation. This is the formal avenue of communication for the colleges in the area.
