The Associate of Arts in Computer Information Systems provides students with a comprehensive technical foundation in computer systems and information technologies, networking, cybersecurity, databases, programming, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and business applications. The program prepares students for entry-level employment and career growth in information technology and related business technology fields.
Graduates gain hands-on experience with industry tools and develop the ability to analyze, design, troubleshoot, and implement IT solutions that support modern organizations. Students also explore the role of AI and emerging technologies in business and computing environments. The program supports workforce preparation for roles such as IT support specialist, systems support technician, business data/reporting assistant, junior database support, cloud support, or cybersecurity support.
The program is projected to produce approximately 15 to 25 completers annually based on current enrollment patterns, program demand, and regional workforce needs.

The program builds on existing CIS courses and pathways, providing a structured associate degree that integrates networking, cybersecurity, databases, and business applications aligned with workforce needs.
Similar Computer Information Systems and Information Technology associate degree programs are offered at several Los Angeles Community College District colleges and regional community colleges.
