Biomanufacturing Technician
New Program
Biotechnology and Biomedical Technology (043000)
08/25/25
The Biomanufacturing Technician Certificate of Achievement is a part of the stackable Biotech certificate with an emphasis on manufacturing biological products, including mammalian cell culture and the regulatory aspect of Biotechnology. Through the core Biotechnology courses, students will be introduced to a large breadth of topics including basic techniques in biotechnology laboratories, molecular biology, quality, and biomanufacturing. Students must complete four core Biotech courses, which cover the fundamentals of Biomanufacturing and Quality, an introductory to Chemistry, and a general biology course to earn the Biomanufacturing Technician Certificate of Achievement. Upon completion of this A.S. degree, students will gain proficiency in both technical and employability skills to gain employment in the biomanufacturing industry. Examples of job titles include, but are not limited to, Research Associate, Manufacturing Technician, and Quality Associate. This is the main path to go into the Biomanufacturing Baccalaureate Program.
The lab courses have a cap of 20 students per offering. Hence, we anticipate between 10 to 20 completers of this certificate annually.
