Catalog Description

The Photographic Lighting Certificate prepares students to provide lighting assistance. Students learn marketable skills that provide entry into professional photographic assisting and lighting design. Many practicing photographers attend classes to refine and update their existing skills. Courses are designed to encourage students to pursue individual projects while developing their technical ability. Students will complete a total of 8 units.

Program Goal

The Photographic Lighting Low Unit Certificate will prepare students for work as professional photographers and photographic assistants. Program Requirements Narrative

Students complete two sequential course in lighting, PHOTO 111 Lighting I and PHOTO 112 Lighting II. Course work includes available light, on camera strobe, continuous and strobe lighting in studio and strobe lighting in the field.

PHOTO 111, Lighting I has a prerequisite course, PHOTO 100, Introduction to Photography.
